Delmar is the co-founder of TNKR Media. An ex-journalist and news nerd with about 15 years’ experience in print, radio, television and digital media. He has strong opinions and doesn’t shy away from controversy, as long as it’s constructive, measured and doesn’t disappoint his parents. He is a political commentator who contributes to Bell Media (CJAD 800 Montreal, Newstalk 1010 Toronto, CTV News Channel) and Postmedia (Montreal Gazette).
A lifelong proponent of putting one's best foot forward - both literally and figuratively - Mailas began her professional life in fashion, managing multinational womenswear brands for a top Canadian clothing distributor. But her heart was always with the family business, and as the third generation at Edgewood Florist, she helped shepherd it for over a decade. Mailas also has experience in the music industry, with a stint as office manager and ego-soother par excellence for now-defunct indie label Galactique Recordings. She is TNKR's editor-in-chief, a devoted dogmother to rescue pup Arthur Lee, and maintains that the Barbie doll is one of the world's great feminist icons.
With over five years of media experience, Chacra has honed her skills as a writer, researcher, editor and yenta. Fresh out of high school, she dove into her professional life as a promotions assistant at Bell Media, managing promotional activities for some of Montreal’s most listened-to radio stations, including Virgin Radio 96. Soon after, she segued into news as a producer and entertainment commentator for news/talk station CJAD 800. While working on her bachelor’s degree in journalism, Chacra co-created online grassroots lifestyle magazine The Main, where she served as editor-in-chief. She now specializes in lifestyle PR, is a fried chicken junkie and vehemently believes that calories aren’t real.
Francis is a music industry veteran with over 20 years of experience in audio production and performance. His various projects have taken him all over North America, the UK and Europe, and he has coaxed sound out of spaces ranging from stone-walled basements to open-air amphitheaters. While he considers himself "retired" as a touring musician, he continues to hold weekly DJ residencies as "Haggard Bastard" at two popular bars in Montreal's South-West borough. In his spare time, Marc is an active participant on the WFMU radio comment boards and enjoys working on his barn.
Hiltz started in journalism six years ago in the parliamentary bureau of a major Canadian newspaper chain. He spent time as a wire reporter and then editor, before striking out on his own path. Since then, he’s worked across the industry, online and on-air. He’s a regular political commentator and occasional media critic. Someday, he’ll give it a rest on Twitter, but that day has yet to come. When he isn’t pounding away at his keyboard, he spends his days mediating disputes between his large-sized dog, Lady Bird, and his normal-sized cat, Winston.
